Lauren Duffy is a writer, travel fiend, and pop culture obsessive living in San Francisco. She enjoys exploring around the Bay Area, discovering art-related activities and finding a mean cup of coffee. Her top three desert island luxuries would be Sufjan Stevens on vinyl, the “world-famous” turkey sandwiches from Arguello Market, and music-related reading material – the 33 1/3 book series is a current top pick!
She currently works in the communications and healthcare industry. In a prior life, she hosted a radio show as Duffy on KSCU 103.3 FM that meandered between indie, ambient electronic, classic rock, dream pop, and psychedelic music. From 2010-2011, Duffy worked as the General Manager of the station. Prior to her run as GM, she was a Music Director for KSCU from 2008-2010, check out her album reviews (The National, Bonobo) and thoughts on delightful downer Christmas songs.
She also worked as a Staff Writer for the Scene section of The Santa Clara, covering Arts & Culture topics including technology, new media, with a specialization in Bay Area music. Check out examples of her writing in the Published Work section. Duffy graduated from Santa Clara University in 2011 with a double major in Communication (Journalism) and Philosophy (Ethics).
